Elizabeth started painting ten years ago while she
was living in North Carolina. She took a watercolor
class at the Durham Arts Council and became hooked on
painting. She evolved from watercolors to painting on
walls and furniture to murals to her present venue of
book illustrations. Her whimsical style and interest
in history are a perfect combination for her beautifully-illustrated
books, “I Live In Denver” and “I Live
In America”. She and Bob have had the opportunity
to live in London and travel to many parts of the world,
which is the catalyst for her next book, “I Live
On Planet Earth”. Their recent trip to Russia
and Scandinavia will serve to feature some of these
countries in their new book. She loves to experiment
with her craft, so you can look forward to new types
of art that evolve with time.
Bob has his Ph.D. in electrochemistry and has his own
consulting firm, Recombination Technologies. He has
been writing various types of technical papers since
he taught Chemistry and did research years ago at the
university level. It seemed natural for him to collaborate
with Elizabeth because of his interest in writing and
research.
Their combined styles and shared interest and experiences
are a perfect match for writing and illustrating these
beautiful books. It will be interesting, indeed, to
see where this creative path takes them in the future!
